This Wednesday the 21st the Whitewater Township Planning Commission and ROWG (Resident Outreach Work Group), will be hosting a public round table outreach event. This will be an informational and input event formally facilitated by Michigan State University (MSU). This is your chance to speak up and be heard on the topic of STR. Do you love them? Hate them? Indifferent? Should our township place additional rules on visitors to our community or should everyone be held to the same standards? This is your opportunity to weigh in. ​

Thank you to everyone who takes time out of their day to attend our Township Planning Commission and Board of Trustee meetings. It is our intention to post meeting dates, time and location. Your participation is imperative as the issues before both boards will have a critical effect the nature of our community for years to come. ​

We know that most folks are busy and can't take the time to attend every meeting. Through our network of volunteers, it is our intent to begin sharing notes and items of interest from select township Planning Commission and Board Meetings whenever possible. Township Board Meeting Notes:
January 8, 2026 - 6:30 pm Regular Meeting
Only three board members were in attendance. There were discussions about a new grant for new outdoor seating at Whitewater Township Park, the potential of a summer parks intern, and Fire Department business, disposal of unneeded equipment and a revenue recapture policy.
December 11 - 6:30 pm Regular Meeting
November 13 - 6:30 pm Regular Meeting
In addition to meeting agenda items, this meeting included a segment under "Board Discussion" about the Proposed Civil Infraction Ordinance. No conclusions were made or votes taken but members shared their respective individual positions on where the township should go from here. When meeting is posted, it will be at the link below. Timestamp is not yet available but will be the last 20-30 minutes of the meeting.
October 9 - 6:30 Regular Meeting plusPublic Hearing for Skegamog Point Road Assessment (road project). Project was approved to move ahead. Tree trimming may begin this winter. Road improvements would being spring 2026.

January 14, 2026 - Planning Commission Meeting, Special Meeting, and Public Hearing.
January 19, 2026 - PC Special Meeting
January 21, 2026 - PC and ROWG Resident Outreach Roundtable facilitated by MSU. 7:00 to 8:30 at Mill Creek Academy.
